Let’s start with Pahang, which is the third largest state in Malaysia and located right next to the big city of Kuala Lumpur that can be reached approximately one hour away, depending on your destination. Famously known for its hill resorts of Genting Highlands and Cameron Highlands, as well as Fraser’s Hill and Bukit Tinggi. Travellers enjoy visiting those places to escape the bustling life and to enjoy some cooling fresh air by the resorts. While you are in Pahang, Deerland Park and Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary National Elephant Conservation Centre in Temerloh are places not-to-be-missed if you want to interact with a few majestic animals. Pahang is never short of activities from petting at the Rabbit Park in Bentong to trekking the tropical rainforest of Taman Negara Malaysia.
Just north of Pahang is Terengganu which is the haven for beach lovers to get in on some sunbathing action or for those who wants to go for diving adventures. Some of the most popular spots are located at Perhentian Island, Lang Tengah Island, Kapas Island and Redang Island. You don’t have to go to the beach in order to escape the bustling city life. There are numerous museums and spiritual places that you can also visit while you’re in Kelantan.
Never forget all the wonderful things that you can do in East Malaysia. Besides being known for the majestic Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, you can get up close and person to the orang utans at the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre or learn about the Borneo ethnic culture over at Mari Mari Cultural Village. Missing your diving adventures? Get on out there to the extraordinary sites of Mabul Island and Manukan Island for an unforgettable experience.
Over at the exciting Sarawak, besides being able to trek the magnificent Mount Santubong, you can get your hiking boots on to witness the equally amazing Mulu National Park or Niah National Park, just to name a few from the many places you can choose from. You can also get up close with the orang utan and exotic bird species at Semenggoh Nature Reserve in Siburan, Sarawak.
