Established in October 1996, Yangon Airways is a joint venture between Myanmar Airways and Krong-Sombat Company of Thailand. The airline’s maintenance station and headquarter is at Yangon International Airport. Yangon Airways became a fully privately-operated airline in Myanmar soon after its current owner obtained the share of both the Thai Company and Myanmar Airways in 2005.
