Taiping Railway Station is the first railway station in the history of Perak. Located in Taiping town, the station is regularly being visited by tourists and locals who are travelling for work purposes as well as for vacations. Taiping Railway Station is placed between Padang Rengas Train Station and Parit Buntar Train Station, providing regular KTM train services to these stations. The station accommodates the train services between Taiping and Prai which also extended to Butterworth, and between Taiping and the capital city of Kuala Lumpur.

Meanwhile, for those who prefer to travel via KTM Komuter train to the station, they can board KTM Northern Sector service (Butterworth-Padang Rengas-Butterworth route) that stops at Taiping Railway Station.
Another alternative to get to the station is by taking a bus service. Rapid Kamunting Service was initially facilitated as a mean of access between Taiping and Kamunting when KTM Komuter Northern Sector was launched. The bus includes a stop at Jalan Stesen (Taiping KTM Station) in the bus route.
For tourists that are travelling from Taiping Bus Terminal to Taiping Railway Station, it will only take a 10-minutes' drive to get to the station.
