An Suong Bus Terminal is located in the northwest of Ho Chi Minh City and is a major hub for traveling within the country and across borders. It was opened in 1988 as the Hoc Mon Transport Terminal, and it was later upgraded and modernized to become a type-1 bus terminal. The terminal is conveniently situated at the An Suong intersection on National Highway 22 (near District 12), making it easy to access 31 provinces and even foreign destinations. Inside the terminal, there are numerous ticket counters, large seating areas, restaurants, cafes, and clean bathrooms for visitors. These amenities make it comfortable for people to wait for buses, which helps the terminal handle millions of people and tons of freight shipments every year.
An Suong is an expert at long-distance routes. It runs every day to provinces like Tây Ninh (near Cambodia), Bình Dương, Đồng Nai, and farther away places in the Central Highlands. In the Mekong Delta, buses go to Cần Thơ and other towns in the south all the time.
Internationally, An Suong offers crossings into Cambodia. Multiple daily buses depart for Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s capital. This 2.5-hour trip runs about 8 times per day. In short, An Suong is a launch point for both domestic journeys (to the Central Highlands, coast and delta) and international routes into Cambodia.
Reaching An Suong Bus Terminal is easy by public transport or car. Several city bus lines stop right at the terminal: for instance, routes 04, 104, 122, 13, 145, 24, 27, 601, 65, 66, and 71 all end here. These connect An Suong with districts across Ho Chi Minh City (District 1, Bình Thạnh, etc.) and with the Cu Chi bus station (bus #74).
Taxis and ride-hailing services can be used for personal travel. Major taxi companies (Vinasun, Mai Linh) and apps (Grab, Be) can drop you off at the terminal. To get there by car or motorcycle, just go to the An Suong roundabout on National Highway 22. It is a well-known landmark right next to Nguyễn Ảnh Thủ Street.
There are many helpful amenities in the terminal for travelers, such as:
