Located in the District Town of Warin Chamrap in Ubon Ratchathani Province, Ubon Ratchathani Train Station is a little unusual as it is not in the Provincial City but 575.1 km away from Bangkok Railway Station. The train station opened in April 1930 as part of the North-Eastern Line Si Sa Ket – Ubon Ratchathani section.

The white bus #2 operates at the Ubon Ratchathani station, covering routes between Chayangkul Road and Upparat Road and crossing the Rattanakosin Bridge over the Mun River. The bus service to Ubon Ratchathani Train Station is convenient for picking up passengers from all the hotels except for the ones that are further off the main streets such as the Laitong and the Tohsang.
