Locally known as “Savan” and officially called as Kaysone Phomvihane.
Savannakhet is the capital of the Savannakhet Province and is located along the river Mekong in the southern part of Laos.

The city is a combination of a French historical town at the heart of the main city along with various other sites of interest including the That Ing Hand Stupa, the Dinosaur museum, the Wat Xayaphoum and the Kaysone Phomvihan’s House.
