AirAsia Seat Classes

AirAsia Malaysia provides a single-class economy fleet that is structured with both standard and hot seats. Business class is not available on AirAsia Airbus as it only serves as a medium-range commercial passenger aeroplane. The hot seats usually come structured with the usual reclining aircraft seats as well as more legroom and only some seats are allocated.

Economy Seat Class

Standard seats for the economy class provided on the fleet is structured with a seat pitch of 28 inches and 16-17 inches’ width to ensure a pleasant onboard journey. Passengers are able to choose their in-flight meal, given they have pre-booked the offered value pack on AirAsia booking online system.

Hot seats on the fleet come with 29-inch pitch and 16-17 inches width. They are usually situated at the front of the plane by the emergency exit rows, where the seats are more spacious and comfortable. Passengers with hot seats are complemented with benefits which include priority boarding, extra legroom and more spacious seats.

Air Asia Fleet

AirAsia Malaysia flies to various destinations using the Airbus A320. This airline fleet can accommodate 180 passengers at most in a one-class configuration with the allocation of 42 hot seats and 138 economy/standard seats. Pre-selecting the seats can be done with charges applied. As a low-cost airline, AirAsia flight does not provide extra in-flight facilities, so passengers are only provided with basic services onboard.

Each status is determined by the accumulated points of how many flights were taken in the past year, which can be used to redeem trips, hotel stays, and other promotions entitled exclusively for the members.

Air Asia Baggage Allowance Check-In

For hand-carry cabin baggage, each passenger is only allowed to carry one cabin baggage and one small bag with the total weight of no more than 7 kg. The cabin luggage must adhere to dimensions of 56 cm x 36 cm x 23 cm (height x width x depth).

Passengers can get a discounted rate by pre-booking the check in baggage allowance online as over-counter booking usually charges a higher rate. Each baggage must not exceed 81 cm x 119 cm x 199 cm (height x width x depth) and should weigh less than 32 kg.

Passengers who wish to carry more bags than the permitted allowance will be charged accordingly.
