Yap Sandiego Ancestral House

Listed as one of the oldest houses in the Philippines.
The Yap Sandiego Ancestral House was constructed between 1675 and 1700.
It was owned by Don Juan Yap, a Chinese merchant, and his family.
The house is now maintained by an avid art collector, popular choreographer and heritage advocate, Val Sandiego.
The Yap Sandiego house is now a popular tourist destination in Cebu City.

What can you find there?

Admire the construction of the house which was built with coral stones that were bound together with egg whites (similar to the Baclayon Church in Bohol).
Check out the roof which is made with Tisa Clay. Each piece of clay weighs roughly 1 kilogram.
Spend a relaxing few minutes in the home’s garden which is beautifully curated.
View some old and new artwork hanging from walls.
Century old relics such as Santo Niño statues are on display at the home and are very well maintained.
