The Bridge on the River Kwai
- Built in 1942-1943 by British prisoners of war
- It was built over a stretch of river which was then known as part of the Mae Klong
- The Bridge of the river Kwai is on the Thai-Burma railway located in Kanchanaburi in Myanmar border
- The bridge is a major tourist attraction and is the heart of intense commercial activities

- The Bridge is 5 km beyond central Kanchanaburiand is surrounded by cafes, shops and small museums
- The Bridge has its own station, River Kwai Bridge station which is about 200 yards before the Bridge at the end of Bangkok
- The track is developed into a walkway with side podiums that allows the crossing of the bridge on foot
- These podiums are useful as viewpoints and for avoiding trains
- Every year, River Kwai Bridge Festival is organized to mark the Allied bombing on November 28, 1994

- The best way to do so is by taking a seat on the Death Railway itself (3rd class tickets)
- Two trains a day leave Bangkok from Thonburi station
