Plaosan Temple
- Atemple complex of Buddhist origin which is divided in two main parts, the Plaosan Lor (North) and the Plaosan Kidul (South)
- Extremely close to the Prambanan temple complex
- Built in the 9th century during the reigns of Rakai Pikatan
- This temple has a distinct Hindu and Buddhist connect to it and has been seen as a symbol of amalgamation and love as the king and his queen were from different religious beliefs and thus this temple construction
What can you find there?
- The main temples are placed at a platform at the height of 60 cms and all are decorated and ornamented with reliefs of men and women all over the two temple divisions
- The temple structures are located in the Prambanan village and consist of two main temples which were surrounded by over 174 ancillary temples, all of which are in ruins at the moment
