Wat Umong
- Wat Umong is a tunnel temple
- Uniquely built and and rich in history
- It ages back to about 700 years
- It covers a vast area of around fifteen acres in the city of Chiang Mai
What can you find there?
- The tunnel itself is plastered with Buddhist images that are a pleasant site to watch and get awed by
- A library museum is also present where the philosophical books of the Buddha are stored
- A large stupa, very high indeed, lies within the grounds of this temple. A fascinating feature to gape at
- A few theater paintings brushed through excellent skills are on display as well
- There are also large ponds there where you can have fun feeding the fishes and turtles
- If you’re up for some more animal watching, there is a small zoo right behind the temple

- It is located to the south of the main campus of Chiang Mai University, just 1km off from there.A ride with the tuktuk, a bicycle or perhaps the city bus is the way to go
