Established in 1969, Sihanoukville Railway Station has been abandoned for quite some time until recently refurbished by the government as an initiative to provide better connectivity to other towns across Cambodia. Although lacking in facilities accessible by the public, this train station is regarded as one of the major stops for trains departing from Phnom Penh while passing through towns like Kampot and Takeo along the respective line.
