Also known as Si Phan Don is a group of islands located across the Mekong River in the Southern part of Laos.
Has three famous destinations that the tourist opt for; Don Khon, Don Dhet and Don Khong islands.
What can you find there?
Don Khong is good and chilly, but apart from it, nothing much to explore in there.
The other two islands, Don Khon and the Don Det are the place to be where the accommodations are reasonable, waterfalls are nearby and swimming, walking and biking all are more available.
How to get to the 4,000 Islands?
Laos
Public transportation to reach the islands are via busses which end into a boat ride from any of the ferries.
Private car or bike rides meet the same fate as well.
