Ambon Ferry Terminal
Ambon Ferry Terminal
Jl. Yos Sudarso No. 1, Ambon, Maluku 97126, Indonesia, is where the Ambon Ferry Terminal (Pelabuhan Ambon) is situated. On the northern shore of Ambon's Leitimor Peninsula, the terminal is located on Ambon Bay, close to the city center.
After Ambon got its independence, work began to build and expand its harbor. It is now called Yos Sudarso Port, after a hero in Indonesian navy battle. At the same time, it is the city's major seaport and a very important trade route.
Through the Ambon Ferry Terminal and Port, many things can now be sent to and from Maluku. To make it feel more like being at an airport, Pelindo (the port authority) has been making changes to the passenger area so that it can hold more people.
How to Get to Ambon Ferry Terminal
- Driving from Pattimura International Airport to the ferry landing area in Ambon City: takes about 40 to 45 minutes.
- Taxi or Bus to Poka town: From there, take the short Galala–Poka ferry across Ambon Bay. This ferry runs frequently and is a quick way to get to Ambon City.
- Local Transportation: Angkot (public minivans) and ojeks (motorcycle cabs) in Ambon City make it easy to get to the port from different parts of town. Angkot tickets are cheap. To get to the ferry port, just flag down an angkot and tell the driver where you want to go. The angkot will then take you there.
- Regular Taxis: Taxis don't have meters, so you'll need to negotiate the price. Ride-hailing services can drop you off directly at the terminal door if available.
Transit hubs nearby: The ferry station is centrally located, just a 5–10-minute drive or 1.5 km walk to the city center of Ambon and famous sites like the World Peace Gong. Several hotels in central Ambon are within close proximity.
