About Putrajaya Sentral Bus Station

Putrajaya Sentral Bus Terminal

Named after Malaysia’s first prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra, Putrajaya was built to avoid the national capital of Kuala Lumpur from being overcrowded. This third Federal Territory of the country was planned to be the federal administrative centre for Malaysia which was shifted in 1999. Putrajaya is most known as a part of the special economic zone of MSC Malaysia and has been growing ever since. Located 25 KM south of KL, Putrajaya Sentral Bus Terminal has been acting as the main transportation centre for travelling in and out of the territory. This bus station has been in operation since 2002 and proved to be great for the people around Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, Dengkil and Sepang. Getting to Putrajaya Sentral Bus Terminal

There are 3 easy ways to get to the terminal with public transportation if you are in the city centre vicinity:

The quickest way to get to Putrajaya Sentral is by getting on a KLIA Transit from KL Sentral. This mode of transport will take you to the terminal in just 20 minutes. The train departs every 30 minutes from KL Sentral with the first train departing at 5:33 AM with the last one leaving at 12:03 AM. It will cost you RM14 per way and RM6.30 for children aged 2 to 12 years old.

On a budget? Taking the bus is your best option as it is RM4 per way. All you need to do is take the E1 bus from the back of Mydin supermarket at Jalan Tun Perak, which is located right opposite the enormous Menara Maybank that you would not miss. As with Kuala Lumpur traffic, travel time takes from 30 minutes to an hour, so it is best to plan ahead when you are leaving the city centre to Putrajaya Sentral Bus Terminal.

The other way is by taxi which should cost you less than RM50. If you are unsure, you can always purchase the coupon tickets that are available easily at KL Sentral as they are already fixed fares. If you decide to book a ride-sharing, it could cost you less and again, this really depends on the traffic and when you are getting them.

Things To Do At Putrajaya

There have been many events held at Putrajaya from hot air balloon shows to air races. It is busier than it seems to most people. Here are just some of the reasons that you may not have thought of why you should take a trip down to Putrajaya.

Cruise down Tasik Perdana – This 650-hectare lake is meant to be a cooling system for the city, hence the cruise tours are very popular here at Tasik Perdana. You have a choice of 4 boats to choose from. First is the 65-foot Sightseeing Cruise boat which is air-conditioned that fits 76 people with glass windows surrounding you for the best view around you that lasts about 45 minutes. Then there is the Dondang Sayang Perahu available in 4 or 6-seater vessels in the shape of wooden gondolas designed with traditional Malay aesthetics that is being led by a boatman. This 25-minute boat ride is definitely the more intimate option. Lastly is the 80-foot Dining Cruise Boat that carries up to 60 people with air-conditioning while you dive into some amazing food for a duration of up to two hours. You can even hire this boat for special occasions too!

Ride on at the Equestrian Park – If you are into horses, you need to head over to Taman Equestrian Putrajaya (TEP) located in Precinct 5. This location built on a 70-acre area of lush greeneries is the dream for riders. You will be able to find 4 types of facilities just for you. First is the Joyride where you can bring your kids to have a fun time with the horses around the stables or at a cordoned area with a handler to guide you. Second is the Stable Tour which you will be able to see how to care for the horses from bathing to feeding them so that you can be hands-on. Over at Riding School, you will learn how to ride a horse once you enrol for the lessons where you can choose to sign up for Beginners level, Group lesson or Private lessons. If you have or want to get a horse, Livery helps to keep them at TEP with a certain fee for rent, food and care as well.

Get extreme at Putrajaya Challenge Park – This 30-hectare park at Precinct 5 is also known as Taman Cabaran. There are three main attractions at this park with the first one called the Indoor Rock Wall Climbing Complex of 2,100 square feet high. The rock climbing wall reaches 20 meters high. Over at Skate Park and Thrill Park, you would be able to challenge yourself to skateboard, BMX biking, inline skating, stunt riding and rollerblading. Over at the Thrill Park is made for bike riders who go for the pump track and slopestyle jump. Mountain bike lovers can go for the Mountain Bike Trail where the mountain is terrain-customised with different grades to suit your preference.
